Falezze is a small wine company rooted in the territory from which it takes its name. The winery produces a careful selection of grapes coming only from this area and yields an annual amount of limited bottles (around 10,000) of high quality between Amarone della Valpolicella, Ripasso and Valpolicella Superiore. In the Falezze area only old vines between 40 and 80 years old are grown, one of the oldest in the area. Their branches and their roots are in area with a very special microclimate, which has a profound affects the culture of the vine and the grapes it produces. In fact, the land is poor in nutrients but rich in micronutrients that we then find unmistakably in the wine. Moreover it is a fresh ground, with particular exposure (receiving a majority of sunrays in the afternoon-evening), and located in the hills. The temperature changes between day and night are higher than in neighbouring zones, and this particular feature helps the acidity and pH of the wine which is an indispensable factor for Amarone of long duration. All agronomic practices are followed personally by the family (especially by his father). All of these features are evident in an unmistakable way in the Falezze wines. In addition, each of Falezze winery product is followed by the painter Sofia Kherkeladze, her artistic touch creates a work of art around every bottle.
